The City requires lot grading permits on new developments and changes to existing surface grades. The inspection and approval process minimizes problems that could arise from improperly graded lots.

Application

Apply online for a lot grading permit.

The City reviews lot grading applications to make sure the plan is consistent with the approved Surface Drainage Plan for the area.

Fees

You can view fees for lot grading in our Development Fees and Fines Bylaw.

A Performance Damage Agreement deposit is required to

• ensure completion of the lot grading, and
• cover the cost of repairs to City infrastructure that may occur during construction.
