Free-cycle cancelled, Large Item Pickup to take place as planned, Shred-4-Free/E-roundup postponed

May 11, 2020

To help slow the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), the City has made the following decisions on the annual waste events that typically take place in Spruce Grove each spring.

  • Free-cycle, which was scheduled to take place from June 6–7, has been cancelled. Due to the nature of this event, it would be difficult to ensure proper sanitizer use and disinfecting protocols were in place, which could put members of the community at unnecessary risk.
  • Large Item Pickup will take place as planned from June 8–12.
  • Shred-4-Free and E-roundup, which were scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 13, have been postponed and rescheduled for Saturday, Sept. 12, to ensure proper physical distancing and hygiene protocols are in place.

We know this will be disappointing news for residents who look forward to the Free-cycle event, but the health and safety of our citizens is our top priority. For those residents who have items they want shredded, we appreciate your patience and look forward to seeing you in September.

Thank you for your understanding. We appreciate your continued support and cooperation as we all do our part to keep our community healthy and well.
