Single-Use Items - Business Toolkit

The City of Spruce Grove is dedicated to helping businesses comply with the Single-Use Items Reduction Bylaw, which came into effect January 1, 2022.

This toolkit provides business owners with information, education material, and advice on communicating with customers.

Download, print, and display signage relevant to your business to help increase awareness of the upcoming changes.

Use the customer Q&A and social media kit to help spread the word about the bylaw.

"Did you know?

Over 6.73 million single-use items are thrown away in Spruce Grove every year. These items cannot be recycled and end up littering our city, taking up space in our landfills, and causing long lasting environmental damage.

It’s time to tackle plastic pollution.

Starting Jan 1, 2022, plastic checkout bags, polystyrene serving ware, and plastic straws will be banned in Spruce Grove – and we’re on board!
