Recognizing volunteers in the Tri-Municipal Region with National Volunteer Week
Join the Tri-Municipal Region this National Volunteer Week to celebrate the impact our volunteers have throughout the Town of Stony Plain, the City of Spruce Grove and Parkland County.
This year’s National Volunteer Week theme is Every Moment Matters, highlighting the importance of every volunteer and each contribution they make. The sharing of time, skills, empathy, and creativity is vital to the inclusivity, strength, and well-being of our communities.
“Volunteers are essential to building our communities,” said Stony Plain Community Development Officer, Deanna Butz. “By sharing their time and energy, our volunteers create meaningful moments every day for people throughout the Tri-Municipal Region. We are so thankful for their service to others and their dedication to our communities.”
Volunteers throughout Stony Plain, Spruce Grove, and Parkland County are invited to one of two volunteer appreciation nights. Both events will be drop-in style, featuring music, food, and opportunities for mingling:
- Volunteer Appreciation Night at Heritage Park, (5100 41 Ave, Stony Plain), in the Spruce Grove Hall on April 17 from 6:30–8 p.m. (all ages)
- Youth Volunteer Appreciation Night at the Stony Plain Youth Centre (4902 51 Ave, Stony Plain) on April 19 from 6:30–8 p.m. (ages 11-17)
Visit the Stony Plain Public Library, Spruce Grove Public Libraries, or Entwistle Community Recreation Centre during National Volunteer Week to share your volunteering moments that matter. Information tables will be available to see current volunteer opportunities and share your comments related to volunteering. Learn more about National Volunteer Week in the Tri Region.
