New integrated Transportation Master Plan to guide the future of City transportation networks

February 24, 2025

The City of Spruce Grove’s new integrated Transportation Master Plan (iTMP) has been finalized and will guide Spruce Grove’s transportation needs for the next 20 years. This long-term plan outlines a comprehensive transportation network designed to enhance safety, connectivity, economic vitality, and regional integration.

Additionally, it will:

  • Guide future investments across all modes of transportation, including roads, sidewalks, transit, and trails, while promoting accessible and efficient options for getting around the city.
  • Align with key City and regional strategies, including the Municipal Development Plan, Area Structure Plans, the Parks and Open Space Master Plan, the Edmonton Metropolitan Growth Plan, and other neighbouring transportation plans.
  • Address key road network projects including significant capital projects, developer led road connections, and intersection upgrades.

Throughout the development of the iTMP, the City engaged with residents, business owners, and other stakeholders, gathering over 400 responses that were considered when drafting the plan. This feedback was carefully considered, and many ideas were integrated into the final plan.
