Maintenance work underway in Heritage Grove Park
City crews are conducting annual forest maintenance in Heritage Grove Park, which will continue into April.
This maintenance will involve the removal and clean up of deadfall and dead standing trees as well as invasive species, while also improving the aesthetic of the forest.
Spruce Grove City Council recently approved a significant investment in additional forest maintenance starting this year to support the ongoing health and appearance of the Heritage Grove Park.
Conducting this maintenance work has several benefits, as the trails are not as widely used at this time of year, and birds have not started nesting in the area.
The park and trails will remain open during this work and users are asked to observe and follow any detour signage.
