Country singer-songwriter JoJo Mason to headline Canada Day mainstage
Since bursting onto the Canadian country music scene in 2014, JoJo Mason has been captivating audiences and climbing the charts. The Regina born singer-songwriter will take to the mainstage at Jubilee Park on July 1 as the musical headliner for Spruce Grove’s annual Canada Day celebration.
Just weeks after the April release of his latest single “Bottom Shelf”, the track has officially topped half a million streams and continues to receive radio airplay and be added to playlists across the country. It’s no wonder why; Mason’s career has seen many incredible highlights, including multiple top 10 tracks on the Billboard Canada country charts, live performances at the 2020, 2021, and 2022 CCMA awards, and an Entertainer of the Year honour, not to mention Canadian Recording Industry Association (CRIA) Gold certification for his 2019 single “Better On You”.
Kicking off the evening show on Canada Day is JUNO Award-nominated folk band Rum Ragged. With a reverence for their East Coast roots, Rum Ragged brings their striking vocal harmonies, captivating (and often humourous) storytelling, and signature brand of Newfoundland folk to Jubilee Park for audiences to enjoy.
The Canada Day opening ceremonies begin at 12 p.m. followed by a full afternoon of talented local dancers, musicians, and entertainers. The evening entertainment begins at 7:30 p.m. with Rum Ragged, followed by headliner JoJo Mason at 9:30 p.m. The celebration concludes with a fireworks display (weather dependent) at 11 p.m. high above Jubilee Park.
