May 28, 2024

Last night City Council was presented with the 2024 Q1 Quarterly Report, which contains key strategic, operational and financial results for January, February and March 2024.

Highlights from the report include statistics and financial data, winter programming and event updates, initiatives to build and support a thriving community, and other work aligned with Council's 2022-2025 Strategic Plan.

In this quarter, many initiatives focused on reducing accessibility and affordability barriers. Notably, City Council allocated resources for a playground with accessible features as part of the Re-Imagined Central Park project. Also, free transit fare was introduced for attendants of individuals requiring support, and work began on a comprehensive housing needs assessment as part of the development of a Housing Strategy.

The report also includes updates on initiatives that demonstrate governance excellence and strengthen the City’s foundational systems and processes. These include approval of the Responsible Pet Ownership Bylaw and Investment Policy, as well as community engagement on the Transportation Master Plan and proposed updates to the Land Use Bylaw for recreational and all terrain vehicles.

Quarterly reports provide Council and the community an update on the activities of the City of Spruce Grove, services, trending data and insight into the work being undertaken related to the themes in Council’s 2022-2025 Strategic Plan.

The City’s Reporting Dashboard has been updated with the latest data from the first quarter.
