Economic Development Advisory Committee
Council passed C-1121-20 Economic Development Advisory Committee Bylaw establishing a revamped Economic Development and Advisory Committee (EDAC) replacing the committee established in 2010. Bylaw C-1121-20 provides clarification on the role, governance and operation of the Committee.
EDAC provides recommendations and advice to City Council on economic and business development issues affecting the larger community.
At the start of every year, EDAC prepares an annual work plan which is presented to City Council for approval. The work plan encompasses the issues that EDAC will work on during the year and subsequently report to Council. Please see the 2024 EDAC Work Plan.

The Committee is comprised of the following members:

Recruitment for vacancies on the Committee takes place during the annual Board and Committee Recruitment process which occurs in the Fall. Please watch the Board and Committee webpage for application details.
Schedule
EDAC meets four times a year in the Poplar Room (3rd floor) at City Hall. Meetings begin at 7 p.m.

How do I attend the EDAC meetings?
To attend EDAC meetings, members of the public come to the front doors and enter City Hall. Take the elevator to the 3rd floor, then turn right and the Poplar Room will be on the right hand side of the hallway.
How do I present as a Delegation at EDAC meetings?
To present at an EDAC meeting as a Delegation, members of the public are required to register two weeks before a scheduled EDAC meeting by email or calling 780-962-7615.
