Council Remuneration Review Advisory Committee
City Council passed Bylaw C-1223-22 establishing the Community Remuneration Review Advisory Committee to provide recommendations to Council on:
- appropriate remuneration of the Mayor and Councillors, including salary, benefits, pensions, allowances and any other forms of compensation; and
- amendments to City bylaws and/or policies related to Council and Council Committee remuneration.
The Committee is an Ad-Hoc Committee that sits once per Council term, typically during the mid-point of the Council term. The Committee is comprised of no less than three (3) and up to five (5) Public Members.
The next time the Council Remuneration Review Advisory Committee is scheduled to sit is 2027. Recruitment for the Committee will occur in the fall of 2026.
Previous reviews
The 2023 Council Remuneration Review report and recommendations were approved by resolutions of Council during the July 17, 2023 regular council meeting.
The 2019 Council Remuneration Review report and recommendations were approved by resolutions of Council during the June 24, 2019 regular council meeting.
The 2017 Mayoralty Status Review report and recommendations were approved by resolutions of Council during the June 26, 2017 regular council meeting.
The 2015 Council Remuneration Review report and recommendations were approved by resolution of Council during the July 13, 2015, regular council meeting.
