The City of Spruce Grove values public participation as an important tool in terms of contributing to the decision-making process for City Council and Administration.

The level of direct public involvement on any given project depends on the initiative, scope, budget, timelines and resources. More than one level, illustrated in this table, may be considered and implemented throughout a project.

Per our Public Participation Policy, the City will offer public participation in the following situations:

• To inform a decision or action
• To help identify community needs and aspirations
• When there is a high risk of an initiative impacting the community
• When required by law, policy, or agreement
