Leaders in Training
Looking for ways to gain valuable work experience? Volunteer as a Leader in Training to meet friends and challenge your leadership skills in a fun and exciting atmosphere. As a volunteer, you will be partnered with Summer in the City leaders to run various summer programs, such as Adventure Camps and Pop-Up Playground.
Volunteer placements are available throughout July and August and hours will range from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Leaders in Training must be available for training sessions. Participants who complete 35 hours of volunteering will receive a certificate of completion and reference letter. Year-round volunteer opportunities are also available.
The deadline to submit an application for the Leaders in Training Program was June 28th. Applications are no longer being accepted for this summer. Check back in the spring of 2020 to participate next year.
- You must be 13 years of age or older and have completed Grade 7.
- A criminal record check is required. Applicants can collect a letter of request from Recreation Services office, 2nd floor, Border Paving Athletic Centre, to receive a free criminal record check from the RCMP.
