Central Park

Central Park has a large community fire pit area, splash pad, and winter skating oval. While you’re there, take a few minutes to visit the Spruce Grove Awards of Excellence recognition feature. Here you can see the names of current and past residents of Spruce Grove who have made significant contributions to society.

Re-imagined Central Park

The City is embarking on a multi-year project to enhance and revitalize Central Park. Construction began in May 2024 and will continue through the summer of 2025. The goals of this project are to improve the park experience for users of all ages and abilities. We'll do this by:

  • Adding exciting new amenities including a wheeled sports park and pump track, playground structures with accessible features, new picnic and shelter areas, and upgrades to the trails and walking paths.
  • Retaining the key features of the park we all love so much, including the healthy, mature trees and forested area, skating oval, stage, splash pad, fire pit, and Lions Log Cabin.
  • Enhancing safety in the park using CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design) principals to improve sight lines, increase lighting, and install security monitoring equipment.
  • Representing the rich history of Central Park and the uniqueness of its surroundings.

Follow along with the progress and sign up to receive regular email updates on the Re-imagined Central Park project page.

Central Park splash pad

The Central Park splash pad is open for the season. The splash pad is located near the Lions Log Cabin in Central Park. It operates daily from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Fire pit

The Central Park fire pit is open to the public to use on a first-come first-served basis. A small amount of wood is stocked weekly at the fire pit but it is recommended that visitors bring their own.
