Parks and Trails

Spruce Grove connects its residents with a multitude of trails and parks. There's no shortage of places to exercise, play or relax.

Parks

Throughout Spruce Grove, there are a variety of neighbourhood parks and playgrounds residents can enjoy including Jubilee Park, Central Park, Heritage Grove Park, and the Rotary Playscape.

There are also three water play areas in Spruce Grove, including two splash pads – one located in Central Park and the other at the entrance of Fuhr Sports Park – and the REMAX Spray Park located in Jubilee Park.

Off leash dog parks are a great way to give your pup some exercise and the City has two options for some off-leash fun, the Cpl. Jim Galloway Memorial Off Leash Area or the Marlboro Off-Leash Park.

Trails

Spruce Grove has many kilometers of trails that connect the community through recreation and provide residents a convenient way to enjoy nature, create memories and build connections.

In 2024, the Joint Trail Connection pathway was added to the City’s trail system to connect the City of Spruce Grove and the Town of Stony Plain. The trail was developed jointly with Stony Plain to enhance community connectivity and quality of life for residents of both municipalities. The trail runs along the south side of Highway 16A – connecting Campsite Road to Veterans Boulevard and then continues north on Boundary Road.

Tribute Program

The City of Spruce Grove has a Tribute Program where people can purchase a tribute tree or have a plaque installed on a City park bench to commemorate a special person, event or occasion.

Peace Pole Project

In 2024, the City partnered with the Rotary Club of Spruce Grove to install three Peace Poles in Spruce Grove at Rotary Centennial ParkCentral Park, and Fairway Park. A fourth Peace Pole is located at St. Andrew's Church.

Peace Poles are internationally recognized symbols and monuments dedicated to peace on earth. Each Peace Pole bears the message May Peace Prevail on Earth in different languages on each of its four or six sides. There are estimated to be more than 250,000 Peace Poles in countries all around the world.
