Golden Goose Hunt

The Golden Goose Hunt, our spring scavenger hunt, begins Friday, March 22 and runs until Monday, April 8, 2024. You have six chances to win a shop local prize basket worth over $400! To win you must find the Golden Goose hidden somewhere in our parks and trail system; clues will be released on hunt days at 9 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.

2024 winners

 

  • The Golden Goose is a gold-coloured plastic statue, roughly 30 cm. long and 20 cm. high.
  • The Golden Goose will be hidden somewhere in the parks, trail system or outdoor public spaces within the city of Spruce Grove.
  • The contest begins on March 22, 2024 and finishes when the Golden Goose has been found and returned to Border Paving Athletic Centre (#100, 9 Tri Leisure Way, Spruce Grove, AB, T7X 0T3) six times.
  • The Golden Goose will be hidden on: March 22, 25, 29, April 1, 5, 8, 2024.
  • First clue: 9 a.m.
  • Second clue: 1 p.m.
  • Third clue: 4 p.m.
  • The Golden Goose will have a message attached with instructions for the winner on how to claim their prize.
  • There is no cost and no age limit to participate - everyone is welcome!
  • The Golden Goose will be hidden in easily accessible areas of the parks and trail system or in public outdoor spaces. 
  • The Golden Goose will not be hidden on private property, close to bodies of water (natural or man made), close to roadways, inside any building, or anywhere outside Spruce Grove city limits.
  • The Golden Goose will not be hidden more than 10 feet (3 metres) off the pathway (when hidden in the trail system), and either on the ground, or no more than 6 feet (1.8 metres) off the ground.
  • The Golden Goose will have a message attached, instructing winners on how to claim their prize.
  • Winners must be able to transport the Golden Goose to the Border Paving Athletic Centre (9 Tri Leisure Way #100, Spruce Grove) during operating hours (Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m.) to retrieve their prize.
  • The contest is open to all ages; however, minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18 when picking up their prize. The winner or winner’s parent or guardian will be asked to sign a release form when collecting the prize.
  • Each player may only win once.
