As an organization you have a responsibility to your members to report activities to the members. One of the most common conduits to report to the membership is at the Annual General Meeting. Do you provide an annual report at this time? An annual report is a condensed version of “what we accomplished this year”, highlighting successes and challenges. Typically it includes the annual financial statements as well. The annual report should not be a burden to any one executive member, but a team effort, although one individual can certainly lead the compilation, etc.
Some organizations publish newsletters or bulletins. Regular meeting minutes are typically shared with members, and considered reporting as well.
Most organizations in today’s culture share their various forms of reporting to the members on websites or through email.
