Gas Permits
A gas permit application and gas permit fee are required for residential and non-residential outlet installs, propane tank sets (new or replacement), temporary propane or natural gas heating (includes tank set), gas or propane cylinder refill centres, and replacement commercial or industrial appliances per unit.
Commercial plumbing permits must be applied for by a certified gas journeyman. All contractors applying for gas permits must have a valid licence for the City of Spruce Grove.
There is a three business day turnaround from when you apply until receiving your permit.
How to apply for a gas permit
To apply for a gas permit, we require the following:
- Completed gas permit application form
- Fee as per Development Fees and Fines
- Double fees will apply to work being done prior to an approved permits being issued.
- The Safety Codes Council Levy fee is non-refundable
Submit permit applications
To help prevent the spread of the coronavirus, the City’s Planning and Development, and Engineering offices are temporarily closed to walk-ins; however staff are accessible by phone or email to assist residents, business owners and builders.
