The TransAlta Tri Leisure Centre is committed to bringing community together to inspire quality life experiences and healthy, active living. The Board of the Tri-Municipal Leisure Facility Corporation, a Part 9 Company is looking for a new public member to represent the City of Spruce Grove. The Board has the authority and mandate to provide leadership in the business of governing and managing all corporate and operational responsibilities of the TransAlta Tri Leisure Centre, and sets overall policies and provides direction for the organization through the General Manager of the Facility.

The TransAlta Tri Leisure Centre Board of Directors is comprised of nine members, three of which are appointed from each of the respective municipalities – the City of Spruce Grove, Town of Stony Plain and Parkland County. Of these members there will be two public members from each municipality and one member from each municipal Council.


Applicants for the Board must have experience in two or more of the following core competencies:

  • Business and managerial experience
  • Strategic Planning
  • Performance measurement and internal controls
  • Policy Development
  • Risk Management
  • Finance
  • Specific experience in recreation wellness, sport or community service
  • Not-for-profit governance

Time Commitment

Approximately one meeting per month

Term of Appointment
