Local RCMP detachment now Parkland RCMP following name change

May 27, 2019

Stony Plain/Spruce Grove/Enoch RCMP has officially changed its detachment name to Parkland RCMP effective May 23, 2019.

Along with the name change is the official consolidation of two detachments into a brand new detachment. Stony Plain and Spruce Grove detachments will merge into the new building located on Campsite Road in Spruce Grove. Enoch RCMP will continue to act as a satellite office within the Enoch First Nation.

"We are looking forward to the move," says Insp. Mike Lokken, Officer in Charge, Parkland RCMP. "The consolidation of members and resources into one Parkland RCMP detachment office will enable us to serve these communities more effectively."

The new Parkland RCMP detachment building will house the existing complement of uniformed and plain clothes members from the current Stony Plain and Spruce Grove detachments along with Traffic Services, currently located in Edmonton.

The building construction is nearing completion. It is anticipated the detachment will be complete early this fall at which time the detachment intends to welcome community members with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
