Fares temporarily suspended on Spruce Grove Transit routes; Route 562 permanently cancelled

March 25, 2020

Effective Wednesday, March 25, the City of Spruce Grove will temporarily suspend fare collection on all Spruce Grove Transit routes (both commuter and local). In addition, all entry on commuter buses (unless otherwise required) will be through the rear doors only.

Effective Monday, March 30, Spruce Grove Transit Route 562 will be permanently cancelled. Route 560 will continue to operate on its usual schedule.

The cancellation of Route 562 is due to the current situation with the coronavirus (COVID-19), as well as an ongoing decline in ridership on this route.

As the situation with COVID-19 is rapidly changing, we want to assure residents that the Spruce Grove Emergency Management Agency is closely monitoring the City’s transit operations.

The health and safety of our staff and our community is our top priority, and we are committed to taking the necessary steps to prevent the spread of the virus while also ensuring that we continue providing essential services to our residents.

We recognize this is a challenging time for many of our residents and we would like to thank you for doing your part to prevent the spread of the virus, and to keep our community well.
