COVID-19 UPDATE: We’re here to serve you – just in a different way

March 20, 2020

As the situation around the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to unfold, we want to reassure residents that we are still doing business – it’s just in a different way as we make adjustments to ensure the health and safety of our staff and our community.

At this time, we are temporarily restricting walk-in access to City Hall, the FCSS office, the Public Works Facility, and the Planning and Development and Engineering offices. We are still here to take phone calls and emails, provide information and updates, and answer questions, but we are just doing it differently.

Residents are also encouraged to use self-serve options when possible, including:

We are committed to providing the services that our community needs and we appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

It’s also important to remember to keep wipes out of the pipes. Paper towels and disposable wipes should not be flushed down the toilet, as they could cause a clog and a backup that may result in property damage is expensive for the City and residents to fix.

We ask our staff and the community to continue practising healthy hygiene habits, including:

  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Don’t touch your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Don’t share water bottles or similar containers.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Routinely clean frequently touched surfaces and objects.
  • Stay home if you are sick.

Thank you for your continued commitment to preventing the transmission of the coronavirus. We all have an important role to play in keeping our community healthy and well.
