The City’s online waste sorting tool includes a waste calendar that allows residents to:

• View their waste collection schedule at a glance
• Subscribe for waste collection reminders through text, email or phone call
• Stay updated on if their waste collection will be impacted by statutory holidays
• Receive waste sorting tips
• Learn about the City’s waste programs (i.e., Large Item Pickup)
• Receive service alerts (i.e., interruptions in service due to unforeseen circumstances)
• Embed their collection schedule into their personal iCal, Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook Calendar

Residents also have the option to only subscribe for service alerts and can unsubscribe at any time.

Why should I subscribe for waste collection reminders?
Waste collection reminders include important information, like when your collection day is, waste sorting tips and details about the City’s waste programs. The reminders will also notify you if your service will be impacted by statutory holidays or unforeseen circumstances.

How do I subscribe for waste collection reminders?
Download the Spruce Grove Trim Your Trash app or see the waste sorting tool above and enter your home address under the “When is my collection day” tab. Follow the on-screen prompts to request push notifications through the app or reminders by email, text message or phone call. You must opt in to receive waste collection reminders through push notification in the app.

Where is my information stored?
If you subscribe through the waste sorting tool above, your information will be processed and stored by Recollect Systems. Inc. This can include your home address, email address, your home/mobile phone number and log files. This information will be stored by Recollect Systems Inc. for as long as you subscribe to the service. A Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act statement with information on data storage and usage must be accepted when you subscribe.

If you download the app to a mobile device and subscribe for push notifications, personal information is not collected.

How do I unsubscribe for waste collection reminders?
You can unsubscribe at any time by using the link in the welcome email or a reminder email. You can also unsubscribe by replying “cancel” to a text message or follow the prompt at the end of a phone call. If you receive push notifications through the app directly, you can toggle the feature on/off in the app.
