On-Demand Local Transit

On-demand local transit provides service to Spruce Grove (including the industrial area), Stony Plain, Parkland Village and Acheson. Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, and Parkland County operate one combined on-demand transit service. However, each municipality makes their own decision about the hours of operation of the service within their own municipality.

Hours of operation

  • Within Spruce Grove and Stony Plain: 5 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday
  • Within Parkland Village and Acheson: 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m., Monday to Friday
  • Within Spruce Grove city limits: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday

Pick-up/drop-off locations

With over 500 pick-up/drop-off locations, travelling around the Tri-Municipal Region has never been easier.
There are two types of on-demand pick-up/drop-off locations - marked and unmarked. Over 75 locations are marked with a bus stop sign. The remaining locations are unmarked (they are “virtual” - they don't have a bus stop sign).

Book trips for right away or up to one week in advance for travel between any two bus stops (during operational hours) in Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, Parkland Village and Acheson.

New Transit Centre opening December 2, 2024

In conjunction with the development of Heavy Metal Place, the City of Spruce Grove is building a new Spruce Grove Transit Centre to meet the growing transportation needs of our community, which will open to transit riders on Monday, Dec. 2, 2024.

Located at 50 Westwind Drive, the Transit Centre will serve as the hub for all commuter service (Route 560) into and out of Spruce Grove and be a regular stop for the On-Demand Local Transit service, providing patrons of Heavy Metal Place another way to get there and enjoy all its amenities.

It will provide comfort and convenience for transit users, including parking stalls for Park & Ride users at no cost, a passenger drop off/pick up zone, bike racks, and a heated shelter where riders can wait for their bus. To start, there will be 50 parking stalls available for Park & Ride users and this will increase to a total of 600 parking stalls when Heavy Metal Place is completed in early 2025.
